Commissioning and Prefabricated Assemblies
Presented by DPR Construction
Prefabricated assemblies can offer higher quality than those constructed onsite. Factories provide highly skilled staff, rigorous quality procedures and certifications, and environmentally controlled spaces. But what if the problems are baked in? Once the equipment is on site, it can be difficult to rectify them.
Factory inspections offer another path toward ensuring quality. Like first-in-place inspections, factory visits can identify early issues and get them resolved while time and money are plentiful.
This pre-conference will provide best practices for the inspection of prefabricated assemblies. After the classroom portion is complete, attendees will tour a manufacturing facility for the newest type of prefab: modular bathrooms and kitchens.
Learning Objectives:
- Create a strategy for inspecting prefabricated equipment assemblies.
- Define how to document issues present during the inspection.
- Identify site issues that will prevent the successful installation.
- Identify issues after prefab assemblies arrive onsite or are installed.
